Reports claim Simon Cowell is stumping up half the cash for the film…
One Direction may have only just scored their first No.1 single, but it seems the lads are already destined for the big screen.
According to The Sun, the What Makes You Beautiful band are to star in a movie charting their road to success – with boss Simon Cowell splashing £150,000 on half the funds for the project.
It is thought that funnyman James Corden‘s TV company, Fulwell73, has bagged the coveted contract for the flick, which will be screened on ITV2.
A source from the film told the tabloid: „One Direction’s story is pretty incredible — from X Factor losers to chart-toppers in less than a year.”
„We have been following the lads ever since they first embarked on their plans for pop world domination.”
They added: „The cameras follow them to the US where they worked on their first album and got into all sorts of mischief. The lads are pretty candid and we’re sure it will be a hit among their army of fans.”
Cowell has previously expressed his love for the 1D boys, stating: „You’re going to see an explosion happen here the likes of which we haven’t seen since Take That — and I think that’s exciting.„
